Hey there!Yesterday I posted a new video about Lee Kuan Yew and the curious process to select ministers in Singapore. I think we can learn a lot from it, because the process is no different from enlisting the traits of a highly successful and highly ethical person. š The following were my Notesā¦Process Selection of Ministers in Singapore:ā¢ People with an inner drive & leadership skillsā¢ * Necessary to drive Singapore's progress.ā¢ People with a general good judgement.ā¢ * To make the right decisions.ā¢ Pass Psychometric Testsā¢ * To asses values, attitudes, life story.ā¢ Test them in their junior's journey.Only when you have exceptional people in positions of power to make changes, we can be more certain about the future progress of Singapore.(paraphrasing)š The following were my Reflectionsā¦This selection process to pick ministers in Singapore really seems like a very rigorous process to pick excellent people, who are not only in their way to create successful things, but they are also very likely to have an inner value system that is supportive to the development of a well-functioning society. To some extent, this peculiar process reminds me of Warren Buffet's 3 ingredients to do well in life:ā¢ Energyā¢ Intelligenceā¢ IntegrityLee Kuan Yew also argues that the person must have good judgement in order to make the right decisions. On the same direction, I think this is a critical skill to have for any individual in a position of high influence. Because high influence means that you have an amount of leverage that is considerably higher than almost anyone else, so decisions will have a much greater impact than anyone else. I think Ministers have high leverage because they can allocate as much Labor and Capital as needed to projects that can last for as long as needed. Thus, if right decisions are made on top of huge sources of leverage, the result is extremely positive. Whereas on the contrary (bad judgement with huge leverage), the consequences can be devastating.š¶ If this content is being valuable to you, consider supporting the channel :)https://www.buymeacoffee.com/pickingnuggetsUntil next time,Julio xx
